Meanwhile, on med-low heat, heat olive oil in a large pan. Saute garlic and onion until tender.
Increase heat to medium and add bell pepper and sausage to pan, making sure to break the meat apart with a wooden spoon. Add salt and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes.
Add wine and tomato pesto and simmer for another 8 minutes.
Stir in chopped spinach and basil to sauce and mix well.
Mix pasta to sauce and add some reserved cooking water is pasta is too sticky.
